On Friday, 13th March 2026, the international conference SkillME 2026, which connects education and the economy in the Alps-Adria region, was held at the School center Novo mesto. We also participated in the conference by presenting the CL-BVET project.
The event was attended by more than 200 participants – students and mentors from Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, who strengthened their professional competencies and international connections through cooperation, knowledge exchange and practical work.
The conference was held in two parts. The plenary part included professional lectures, presentations of good practice examples and reflections on the future of vocational education, collaborative learning and cooperation with the economy.
At the same time, practical workshops were held for students who, in internationally mixed groups, solved concrete challenges from the professional fields of mechanical engineering, mechatronics, car service activities and woodworking.
This way of working encourages teamwork, collaborative learning, knowledge exchange, and the development of communication and professional competencies, while at the same time, cooperation between schools and the economy and young people opens the door to the future of professions.
